My GLOCK® front sight is loose.

Your TRUGLO GLOCK sight set comes with two front sight screws. The longer (.100”) is installed in the front sight. The shorter (.080”) screw is packed inside the cardstock header from the package.  This shorter front sight screw usually takes care of a loose sight condition.

Please look through your package for this shorter (.080”) screw.

TRUGLO always recommends to have a professional gunsmith perform all sight removal and recommended installation procedures.

Only a screw-type sight installation tool should be used for the rear sight removal and installation.

We’d advise to use a little blue Loctite on the front sight screw threads and red Loctite on the front sight boss (the stud on the bottom of the front sight that fits into the slide).

If there is any amount of play, or the screw does not fully seat the sight into the slide, we have supplied a second, shorter (.080”), marked “Gen4” screw for use.

If this is a GEN4 GLOCK, we recommend using a little blue Loctite on the front sight screw threads and green Loctite on the front sight boss (the stud on the bottom of the from sight that fits into the slide).

Most well-equipped gunsmiths and armorers should have these Loctite products handy. Be sure to firmly seat the front sight into its slide slot by applying steady, gentle pressure. Use a piece of soft wood to press the sight against and do not rap the front sight into place. This should take care of any problems you’ve experienced with a loose front sight.
