3/8th Metal Dovetail Front Sights

For our 3/8″ metal front dovetail sights, Please confirm with the manufacturer of your firearm, or your local gunsmith that your rifle has the standard 3/8” dovetail for its front sight insert before purchase.

These are available in two colors and four heights: measured from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the sight.

TRUGLO recommends to confirm front sight dovetail fit and compatibility with a local gunsmith before purchase. TRUGLO recommends installation by a trained, professional gunsmith, with appropriate sight installation tools.

TRUGLO always recommends installation by a professional gunsmith to avoid damage to the original sights, replacement sights and firearm during removal and installation.

Lever Action Sight Installation and Adjustment

TRUGLO always recommends having a professional gunsmith perform any sight removal and installation procedures.

Specialized tools are needed to ensure the original sights are removed without damage to the sights and the firearm.  Likewise, these same sight tools are used for the installation of the new set of sights and again to protect these parts and the firearm.  The expertise of a local gunsmith is also a significant help as there can be an occasional unforeseen issue with the installation which their experience can easily solve.

For adjustment to the sight once installed, the majority of revision takes place on the rear sight.

When installed and looking at the sight from above, you will notice three screws.

The rearmost screw when loosened and re-secured, allows for the windage adjustment (green fiber holder) to move left/right for POI (point of impact) change.  Moving the windage adjustment to the shooter’s left, will shift the POI to the right and moving to the right, will shift POI to the left.

The middle screw adjusts your downrange POI for elevation.  Raising the rear sight will move your POI down and lowering the rear sight will raise POI results.

The most forward screw is used to provide a final set for the rear sight once mechanically centered.

What sight set fits my Marlin 336?

We recommend the TG109 sight set for the Marlin 336. It is important that you measure the factory front sight dovetail insert for compatibility with our Marlin 336 sight set (TG109). We supply a front sight insert that is .343”, measured from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the sight. If your front sight insert is shorter than .343”, or significantly taller, then we would not recommend to install these sights on your Marlin. These sights can be drifted in and out with a small hammer and a soft-metal punch or drift.

We always recommend to have an experienced gunsmith perform replacement sight installations of any kind.

What sights fit my Marlin Guide Gun?

We recommend the TG112 for the Marlin Guide Gun, but it is only for those models with a front sight base ramp.  If your front sight blade is dovetailed directly into the barrel, this set will not be a good fit for this gun.

We would also recommend you look at our 3/8″ metal front dovetail sights. These are available in two colors and three heights: measured from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the sight.

What sights fit my Marlin 19895GBL?

It is important that you measure the front sight dovetail insert for compatibility with your Marlin 19895GBL.  The sight set that is closest in height (front sight) should be correct for this rifle. Measure front sight dovetail insert from the top of the sight to the bottom of the dovetail. The front sight heights are as follows:

TG109   .343”

TG112   .450”

TG114   .500”

Please make sure your front sight does have a 3/8” dovetailed front sight blade insert in its base ramp. We always recommend to have an experienced gunsmith perform replacement sight installations of any kind.

Marlin TG975 front sight screw

The TG975 series sight was designed to fit many different Marlin rimfire models.  It was designed primarily around the model 60, but again, will fit many other Marlin .22’s. Most Marlins will fit up with no adjustment required to this front sight screw.

One option is to try the original screw that you removed and see if this gives you a secure fitment. Another is to work this supplied screw down just a little bit at a time on a file, or even sandpaper until a good fit is achieved. We only have one length screw available for this part, and sometimes these do require just a little bit of fitting to work best on your specific model Marlin .22 rifle.

Rifle Rear Sight Adjustment Tips

When making adjustment to your rear sight, here are some helpful tips:

Shooting ABOVE the target:  Move the rear sight DOWN the ramp

Shooting BELOW the target:  Move the rear sight UP the ramp

Shooting RIGHT of the target: Move the rear sight to the shooter’s LEFT

Shooting LEFT of the target: Move the rear sight to the shooter’s RIGHT

ROSSI 92 Lever Action Rifle Sights

We do not produce a set of sights specifically for this Rossi rifle and we have not explored possible sight sets which may be compatible. We can offer the following advice, match the height of your existing front sight, with one of the sets below.  Measure this front sight blade insert from the bottom of the dovetail, to the top of the sight.

TG109 .343” front sight blade

TG112 .450” front sight blade

TG114 .500” front sight blade

The sight sets above are designed for a front sight that has a ramped base, for the front sight blade insert, not a dovetail cut directly into the barrel top as the  Rossi 92 exhibits.

We would also recommend you look at our 3/8″ metal front dovetail sights.

These are available in two colors and four heights: measured from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the sight.

TRUGLO always recommends to confirm all dovetail dimensions with the firearm manufacturer, or a professional gunsmith before purchase.

Winchester® 94 Rifle Sight Sets

We recommend the TG112 sight set for the Winchester 94. These are intended for use on Model 94’s with a factory front sight base ramp.  Many of the “carbine” models have their front sight dovetailed directly into the barrel (no base ramp). It is important that you measure the factory front sight dovetail insert for compatibility with our sight set (TG112).

We supply a front sight insert that is .450”, measured from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the sight. If your front sight insert is shorter than .450”, or significantly taller, then we would not recommend to install these sights on your Winchester ‘94. These sights can be drifted in and out with a small hammer and a soft-metal punch or drift.

We always recommend to have an experienced gunsmith perform replacement sight installations of any kind.
